Russian illustrator in Japan Hi everyone! I’m Yurya Blinchik! Today I want to show you my favorite food in Japan. FUGU! Fugu looks really cute. Fugu is known as very dangerouse fish but recently It is raised in special places by human and almost has no poison. Only professional can cook this fish for you so you should not worry trying this rare fish in Japan. When I tryed fugu for the very first time I really suprised. It was not fishy taste at all. I’d say It was taste like chicken. Last time I ate Fugu was a long time ago so I can’t wait to try this fish again. There are many dishes that can make of Fugu and today let’s try my most favorite. This is skin of Fugu Here we go. Look it is cut into thin slices. It doesn’t look like skin of fish right? It looks like jelly noodles. You ask me how does it taste? I answer: the taste is fantastic! Next is Fugu sashimi Look how thin they are!!! You might see me through this sashimi))) Dip it in this sauce named Ponzu. Fugu sashimi are not so soft as regular sashimi. And I’d say they are a little crispy. Next is Fugu Karaage. Fugu Karaage is fried in Fugu oil. But as I said It does not have any fishy taste. It tastes like chicken nuggets. It’s like a magic. Fish with not fishy taste. Next is Fugu Nabe. The fugu for Nabe is really fresh. You can be sure It was still alive just 5 mins before you see It on the table. Sometimes every sliced pieces of It are still moving. It might look very scary. Nabe is very hot dish. It’s made of some boiled vegetables, meat and fish in one pot. It’s amazing! Actually Japanese eat Nabe very often in winter. But today I’ve got exotic Fugu Nabe that can’t be eaten every day because of it’s high cost. You have to not just put all vegetable inside. You have to arrange It nicely. Try to make the dish look beautiful. Today is a little bit cold day, that’s why I’m going to eat this hot Nabe. Too hot! I’m really full now but there is the last dish named Zosui. Zosui is soup and today It will be with Fugu bouillon. I took off all vegetables and fish and now I will put rice and egg inside of this bouillon. That’s all! Very simple soup but It’s really good! And the last is dessert. They brought me cold ice-cream with hot green tea. I can see sweet beans inside! And this Ice-cream is very strange taste. Very specific. Let’s try with hot tea.
