Allswell Home Memory Foam Mattress Topper Review

Allswell Home Memory Foam Mattress Topper Review

[background music] Sarah Riccio: Hey, guys. It’s Sarah from Sleepopolis. Today, we’ll be taking a look at three mattress
toppers from Allswell Home. If you’ve been looking for ways to add some
comfort layers to your mattress, or adjust the firmness, or if you just want to find
out what a mattress topper is, stay tuned. I’m about to show you three very cozy examples. I actually get a lot of questions about mattress
toppers. What are they used for? How are they any different from a mattress
pad? They’re unlike a mattress pad, which is thinner
and comes with a fitted skirt design to go beneath your mattress. Mattress toppers are thick and they sit on
top of your mattress. Folks use them to adjust the firmness of their
mattress, to add some extra inches of comfort layers. Mattress toppers come in all different materials
like latex, down, or foam, but the three that we’re looking at here are all made from memory
foam. However, the details of their construction
differ from topper to toppers. Let’s take a close look at what each one was
made of. All the mattress toppers that we’re looking
at from Allswell Home are made from memory foam. What do we know about memory foam? Well, it offers a nice, slow response to pressure,
really deep sink into the material that just keeps you comfortably cradled, and relieves
pressure throughout your body. Folks who already sleep on all foam mattresses
but just can’t get enough of those comfort layers, or folks who sleep on an innerspring
or a hybrid mattress, and you want to top it off with a memory foam feel, there’s no
certain kind of mattress that you have to have in order to enjoy a memory foam topper
like these. As long as it’s the right fit sizewise, you’re
good to go. We know they’re all made from memory foam,
but we’ve got one that’s infused with graphite, one that’s infused with copper gel, and one
that’s infused with both. The one that’s infused with graphite is three
inches deep, and the other two are four inches deep. Aside from the purposes of these material
infusions, which we’ll get to in a second, folks with broader shoulders, or those who
are heavier might find better pressure relief for the four-inch option as opposed to the
three-inch option. What’s the deal with these infusions? Well, the simple answer is, both graphite
and copper gel are designed to act as thermal highways that draw heat away from your body,
helping you to keep cool throughout the night. When it comes to just the graphite-infused,
three-inch memory foam topper, it does have a slightly shorter profile than the other
two, and still working to dissipate your body’s heat. The thing about memory foam that not everyone
loves is that it does have the reputation for trapping your body heat and causing you
to heat up throughout the night. If you are prone to night sweats, or you’re
prone to warming up, but you love the feel of memory foam, it is a good way to go. When it comes to the four-inch memory foam
topper infused with copper gel, copper is still working to help dissipate your body’s
heat, draw heat away from your body, allowing for a cooler sleep experience. Copper also is known for its anti-microbial
properties. In addition to helping you keep cool, the
copper is also working to keep mold and mildew, and any other yucky allergens at bay. As far as the topper that incorporates both
the graphite and the copper gel, which, by the way, is my personal favorite, you’re getting
the best of both worlds. You’re doubling down on those cooling properties. If you’re someone who sleeps very hot, it’s
probably the one I’d go with. It also feels cooler to the touch. Of course, you’re also getting those great
anti-microbial properties from the copper gel as well. We know what all three of these toppers are
made of. Let’s take a closer look so we can decide
which sleepers are going to be most compatible with which topper. Folks who really like a nice, slow response
to pressure, that deep sink into the material that memory foam provides, are probably going
to be most compatible with the feel of these toppers. Not to mention, three and four inches is nice
and thick. It’s giving you that good pressure relief
in your shoulders and your back, which I found to be particularly beneficial in the side
sleeping position. Despite their different infusions, all three
of these toppers are designed to draw heat away from your body and help you sleep cool. While sleepers of all kinds can enjoy these
toppers, I do think that folks who both love the feel of memory foam, and have a tendency
to sleep hot, are going to be most compatible with these toppers. Something that’s cool about the toppers that
are infused with the copper gel is that you’re still getting that nice dissipation of your
body’s heat. You’re also getting that extra resistance
to mold and mildew and allergens, helping your topper and your mattress to stay fresh
and clean. There are a few things, though, to consider
about these toppers before you decide to commit. First of all, not everyone is into the feel
of memory foam. In fact, some folks say that deep sink into
the material actually makes them feel a little trapped. If you’re looking for a topper that lets you
rest on top of it rather than deeply nestled into it, you might want to look for a topper
that’s got more of a buoyant support, more of a bouncy quality like latex. Another thing to consider is how your sheets
are going to fit your mattress once you introduce the topper. I’ve got the Allswell Mattress on the frame
right now. It’s about 10 inches deep. Adding a three- or a four-inch topper is going
to take the profile to 13 or 14 inches deep, which shouldn’t be a problem for more sheet
sets. However, if you already sleep on a mattress
that’s like 15 inches deep, and then you add another three or four inches, you’re going
to want to make sure that your fitted sheets has pockets that are deep enough to accommodate
both your mattress and your topper. [background music] Sarah: That’s it for me. For every last detail on all three of these
