Maybe you just need a little more practice.>>BEAVERTON: Let’s play again!>>SOCKS: Okay, but let’s have new teams.>>PAISLEY: Socks and I will play together.>>BEAVERTON: It’s my turn to have Socks on my team!>>SOCKS: Wait, who want to have Elliot on their team?>>ELLIOT: Hi!>>BEAVERTON: Um…>>SOCKS: Well, okay. (Beaverton laughing)>>SOCKS AND PAISLEY: Yay!>>BEAVERTON: All you have to do is practice with this big ball and this really big bat!>>ELLIOT: Oh!>>BEAVERTON: Go on, now! Give it a try. First, stand so you’re facing the ball.>>ELLIOT: Okay. Like this?>>BEAVERTON: Yeah, that’s good.>>ELLIOT: Hey! I hit it! I hit the ball!>>BEAVERTON: Very good! This time, try hitting it that way!>>ELLIOT: You’re right. It was probably a lucky hit. Now, I stand facing the ball.>>BEAVERTON: Uh-huh. Okay. Oh, what did I tell you? (Beaverton laughing) Run!>>ELLIOT: This is great! Socks, Paisley, I can finally hit the ball!>>SOCKS: Great! Let’s see!>>PAISLEY: Yay! Show us!>>BEAVERTON: This time, try to hit it with a normal bat and ball.>>ELLIOT: Oh, okay. Watch this!>>BEAVERTON: Oh, goody, goody, goody.>>ELLIOT: Aw!>>PAISLEY: I used to have trouble hitting, too, because the bat was too heavy.>>ELLIOT: It does weigh quite a lot.>>PAISLEY: So I held it like this. Higher up on the handle. Try that!>>ELLIOT: Oh! Like this? Higher up the handle!>>PAISLEY: Yes!>>ELLIOT: Okay! Missed!>>PAISLEY: Well, it helped me. See you!>>SOCKS: There’s another thing that might help. I used to be a terrible batter. Awful! The worst! Then I learned a little secret: Keep your eye on the ball. Keep watching it when you swing at it.>>ELLIOT: Okay. (Socks squawking) Ah! I’ll try that. My eye on the ball. Socks!>>SOCKS: Yes?>>ELLIOT: The ball’s still there!>>SOCKS: How about a snack?>>ELLIOT: Oh!>>BEAVERTON: Okay, great!>>PAISLEY: Okay, great!>>SOCKS: Elliot, are you coming?>>ELLIOT: No, thanks. I’m going to practice until I can hit this ball.>>SOCKS: Okay. See you later!>>BEAVERTON AND PAISLEY: Bye! See you, Elliot!>>ELLIOT: Now, let’s see. Beaverton said to stand facing the ball. Paisley said to hold the bat higher, like this. And Socks said to watch the ball. Amazing! Socks! Paisley! Beaverton!>>SOCKS: Yes, Elliot?>>PAISLEY: Yes, Elliot?>>BEAVERTON: What is it, Elliot?>>ELLIOT: Watch this! Okay.>>UNISON: Hooray! Hello, is this Elliot Moose, Country Detective? I need you right away!>>I think Farmer Amy’s place is the next one!>>Thank you, Dr. Sockson! Ah, what have we here? “Guide to Local Ghosts.” Hmm, that might help us with Farmer Amy’s haunted windmill. We’d better buy a copy.>>One ghost guide, please.>>Right away!>>Thank you! My name’s Sockson, Dr. Sockson. And Elliot Moose is in the truck! We’re here on a case.>>Gracious, I hope everything will be alright.>>This case is as good as solved! Thanks! Bye!>>Good luck! You’ll both need it!>>There was no wind, but the windmill started turning! And then I heard the ghost. (IMITATING GHOST): Ooh, go away!>>Hmm.>>GHOST: Oh! Go away!>>AMY: You see?>>ELLIOT AND SOCKS: Amazing!>>Very amazing! A ghost told us to go away, and I think we should listen to him. Let’s go!>>Dr. Sockson, that’s no ghost. It’s probably a tape recorder and a loudspeaker.>>How do you know that?>>Elementary, Dr. Sockson. Look at these footprints, yours and Farmer Amy’s. They stop at the same point. There must be a switch buried here that turns on the tape recorder with that spooky voice. And it makes the windmill turn! Watch!>>GHOST: Go away!>>But who? Why?>>We’ll find out. Dr. Sockson, tonight you and I will stay inside the windmill!>>Look at these books! And they’re all about mice! Hmm.>>Hmm?>>SOCKS: Dr. Sockson! I have solved the mystery of the haunted windmill!>>GHOST: Oh! Go away!>>There is only one person clever enough and mean enough to do this.>>Professor Mouseiarty!>>ELLIOT: Yes. My old enemy. This is his hideout and he’s trying to scare people away, so no one will discover it. But tonight, he’s in for a surprise. (Laughing)>>No sign of Elliot Moose or Dr. Sockson. I am a very clever mouse! (Power shutting off) Whoop! What? Impossible. (Wind blowing) Who’s there?>>I am the real ghost of the windmill, and you are a very bad mouse!>>I-I didn’t know you lived here.>>GHOST: Well, I do, and it is time for you to promise you’ll stop being bad!>>I, I promise. I promise that I’ll…>>GHOST: You’ll promise that you’ll what?>>I promise that I’ll never be caught by Elliot Moose!>>ELLIOT: Socks!>>Whoa! (Laughing)>>SOCKS: I meant to do that!>>Amazing!>>Thank you for helping me! I’m so happy to know my windmill isn’t haunted.>>From now, it will be turned by the wind, not Professor Mouseiarty.>>We almost caught him!>>We’ll meet professor Mouseiarty again, Dr. Sockson, and maybe he won’t be so lucky next time. Quick!>>Wait, Your Majesty! (Snoring)>>SOCKS: Oh, no! That’s the meanest looking dragon I’ve ever seen.>>Shh! Don’t wake it up! Let’s take the long way around! (Gasping)>>And let my Cape of Courage fly away? Never! (Snoring)>>Huh?>>Hurry, hurry!>>Gee. It’s dark in there.>>Very dark!>>It’s so black!>>Very black!>>Some people might say it was scary.>>Very scary!>>UNISON: King Lionel? King Lionel? Maybe we’d better go back to the castle and get a light!>>A light? Don’t be silly, there’s no time. Onwards! Aha! At last! My Cape of Courage! Who will climb up and get it?>>Squire Socks is the best climber, King Lionel. That tree is too high for me to climb.>>It’s too high for me, too.>>Never mind. (Growling) (Gasping) Whoa!>>Amazing!>>I’ve got it! I’ve got it!>>Careful, Your Majesty! Hold your breath. (Laughing)>>Oops! Oh, dear. Oh, my, this tree is so very, very high. I’ll never get down unless I’m wearing my Cape of Courage.>>But, Your Majesty, you weren’t wearing your Cape of Courage when you snuck past the dragon!>>Mm-hmm!>>No. No, I wasn’t, was I?>>And you weren’t wearing it when you ran through the creepy, dark tunnel.>>True!>>Or when you leapt up the tree. You were brave without your cape. And you can be brave now!>>You’re right, Sir Elliot Moosealot! I am brave, with or without my cape! Look out below! Wee!>>SOCKS AND ELLIOT: Yay!>>What did I tell you?>>Thank you, Sir Elliot and Squire Socks. Time to head home to the castle. Perhaps somebody’s found our kite.>>Aren’t you going to wear your cape?>>No, no, no. I don’t need it now.>>Well, if you don’t, Socks and I have an idea for it.>>Yeah! It makes a great kite!>>The Kite of Courage! What are you doing out here?>>LIONEL: It’s almost bedtime.>>SOCKS: I know.>>BEAVERTON: Don’t you want to go to bed?>>SOCKS: No!>>ELLIOT: Why not?>>SOCKS: Because I don’t want to have anymore strange dreams!>>LIONEL: Socks, dreams aren’t really real, you know. They’re like pretend stories that you see when you’re sleeping.>>SOCKS: Did you ever have any strange dreams, Lionel?>>LIONEL: Of course! I remember one. It was really strange! I was having a nap in the playroom. Hmm.I was painting in the playroom.Elliot was there, too.It was a quiet afternoon, butthen, as I was examining mywork…(Lionel humming) (Buzzing)>>ELLIOT: Hmm? What?>>LIONEL:Elliot was waving atme.I thought he was playing, andthen I heard the fly!>>ELLIOT: Come on! (Buzzing)>>LIONEL:It was the loudestfly anybody ever heard, and itflew so fast, you couldn’t seeit!(Buzzing)>>LIONEL: Whoa!“Let’s catch it,” said Elliot.All of a sudden, Elliot washolding a net, and I waswearing a baseball glove!>>ELLIOT: Hold still. I got him! Oh! (Lionel groaning) He’s up here!>>LIONEL:Elliot couldn’t findthe fly, but I knew exactlywhere it was.Right on the end of my nose!>>SOCKS: What happened then, Lionel?>>LIONEL: I don’t know. That’s when I woke up! I realized it was all a dream!>>ELLIOT: Oh!>>SOCKS: Your dream was funny, but my dreams was bad! A world with no bananas!>>BEAVERTON: Merciful maple chips! You think that’s bad? Once, I dreamt that my friends were trees!I remember, I fell asleep anddreamt that…You and Elliot werefunny-looking trees who came togive me a medal because I liketrees!Oh, goody!>>SOCKS: Yay!>>BEAVERTON:The name of themedal was The Golden Acorn,and before you gave it to me,you did the famous treeceremony!>>ELLIOT AND SOCKS: Maple, oak, and elm and pine. If you like trees, then make this sign! Mighty branch from little twig. From a seed, a tree grows big! Birch and bang and poplar, spruce. We are Socks and Elliot Moose! Who tell you in our special way, to smile at trees you see today! Yay!>>BEAVERTON: Oh! All mine! That was wonderful! (Beaverton sighing) And just when I got the medal, I woke up!>>SOCKS: That dream was funny, Beaverton, but my dream made me feel bad.>>ELLIOT: I had a dream like that. Everybody was laughing at me.>>SOCKS: What happened?>>ELLIOT: I had just finished some mapleberry juice and was having a nap.And then I had this strangedream!I dreamt that we were alldancing in front of a lot ofpeople!But I made lots of mistakes!Whoa! (Thudding) (Clearing throat)>>SOCKS: One!>>LIONEL: Two!>>BEAVERTON: Three!>>ELLIOT: Four!>>UNISON: Five, six, seven, eight! And one, and two, and three, and four– Whoa!>>ELLIOT:I lost my balance andmade everybody fall!Everyone started laughing atme!I felt awful.And then I woke up and realized it was only a dream. I felt so much better. (Laughing) Hey! Why are you laughing at me?>>Whistling willows! We’re not laughing at you! It was your dream that was silly.>>ELLIOT: I know! I told it so Socks would feel better.>>LIONEL: Well, that’s what friends do, try and help their friends feel better.>>SOCKS: And I do feel much better now! Next time I dream about a world with no bananas, I’ll wake up and know it was only a dream!>>BEAVERTON: I’m so glad we helped!>>LIONEL: Now we can all go to bed and get some sleep!>>ELLIOT: I like making my friends feel better.>>LIONEL: Socks must be feeling much better, because she’s fallen asleep!>>ELLIOT: Amazing!
