Horrified man films ‘nest of mice scurrying on food and drinks inside Pret’

A man was left horrified after claiming to see a nest of mice crawling over food and drinks at a Pret A Manger restaurant  David Nassim, 51, and wife Limor spotted at least five mice scuttling on the shop floor and underneath a pile of bottled drinks inside the Cranbourn Street branch in Leicester Square, central London  Mobile phone footage taken by David shows the shop front before panning the camera, revealing the street name as he says: “Pret A Manger, Cranbourn Street Full of mice.”  As he walks closer to the door, a rodent is seen emerging from underneath the illuminated mesh panel at the cashier  Pret have since told Mirror Online they will close the shop while they investigate the incident which occurred on Halloween night    “Look, look, there it is. Look at that mouse,” David said in the video.  “We’ve been about already seven of them ”  The mouse took a little trip inside the deserted shop and quickly ran back to the dark near the ledger board  Company director David, who is a regular customer at Pret A Manger, said the other mice were hiding at the very back of the restaurant, near the pile of bottled drinks and packaged food  He told Mirror Online: “It was Halloween, around midnight. Me and my wife left a Halloween party in the West End and were just walking back to the car    “We walked past a Pret and looked inside, there’s food and drinks piled up and loads of mice running around  “At least five, or maybe even six or seven of them, they were sprawling under the tables  “We are horrified, and we actually eat there.  “Thinking of all their droppings and health and safety issues, it’s scary ”  David was worried about the food hygiene standards and took it to the eatery’s head office  He sent the video to them with a complaint and has heard no response.  “You just want to make sure, you know, it [Pret] is a big business and earns millions from the people,” he added  A spokesperson at Pret A Manger told Mirror Online: “At Pret, we expect all our shops to have extremely high standards of hygiene and cleanliness  “As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we brought in pest control to investigate  “We are closing the shop until we resolve this issue.”  Apparently this was not the first time customers questioned about the sandwich shop’s food safety  Two months ago, a woman filmed a rat running along a bar under a table inside the Wardour Street branch in Soho  She and her friends spotted the rodent through the window of the closed shop.
