KIACeed Moose test This is our first attempt of the test with the KIA Ceed in which, therefore, we did not know yet how the car would react. It was not a successful attempt because the car understeered in the second cone lane and that prevented us from getting into the third one correctly. We completed best attempt, at the same speed, 77 km/h. The reactions of the car were not bad but, as it can be seen on the footage, the body rolls a lot and bounces laterally from the second cone lane. In the last section, the rear of the car moved abruptly. This attempt was made by a different driver and at 74 km/h. As it happened on the previous one, the body rolls significantly and the suspension produced several bounces, although smaller. The big difference between this attempt and the previous at 77 km/h is that, in the last section, the rear wheels skid substantially and abruptly. This footage shows an attempt at 78 km/h done by the same driver as the 74 km/h one. The reactions of the car were similar but there was a tires skidded to a bigger extent, specially in the second and third cone lanes. After considering the results, it becomes evident that there was a slight difference The reason may be the smoothness or the moment in time of the driver’s inputs. In any case, we consider that the car performed no more than average. Slalom As it can be seen on this slalom footage, the changes of direction of the KIA Ceed are not particularly fast. Apart from the big body roll, the car does not alter the path smoothly, but producing several stumblings which impede the driver from placing the car exactly where wanted.
