Whole body exercise

Whole body exercise

Hello and welcome to the exercise of the day. I’m Doug Sheppard of J and D Fitness group. Today we’re going to show you guys a whole
body exercise. The only piece of equipment you’re going to
need is a core ball. For those of you not familiar with a core
ball, it’s just a weighted medicine ball. It’s got a cool little handle right here,
allows you to hold onto it. You can do various lifts, chops, lunges, and
different types of movements with it. It’s a cool piece of equipment. If you need to order a core ball, you can
just visit our site at www.JandDFitness.com. You’ll be able to order one right on the home
page. Enough talk let’s get to our exercise. To help us today we have Miss Shiela Beavers,
figure competitor. So grab your core ball, we’re going to start
our movement, let’s rock n’ roll. For a whole body exercise what we’re going
to do is have Shiela perform a forward lunge. And she’s going to have the core ball on one
side. The side she’s holding with, she’s going to
perform a lateral raise. You could also substitute a dumbbell for the
core ball. I just think it’s a lot more functional using
the weighted medicine ball. OK ready? OK, let’s go. Notice again, Shiela’s bending at the ankle,
knee, and hip. That’s where she’s flexing. Also you’re going to see, the side that she’s
stepping, that’s where the load is on. She’s stepping with the left leg, that’s where
the load is. Nice soft elbow, a little lower, not as high. And keep your wrist neutral. Excellent. Notice her posture, she’s standing upright
nice and tall. She’s bracing, tightening up her abdominals. Keeping her core nice and braced. So there’s your whole body exercise. Give it a try, and leave us a comment on our
YouTube channel. Tell us how many you can do. But now it’s your turn. Get out there, stay committed, and tune in
for our next video.
